Child’s Death Triggers Protest at Nellore Government Hospital
Nellore: Tension prevailed at the Government General Hospital in Nellore shortly after midnight on Monday after the family members of a deceased child staged a protest, alleging that she died due to the unavailability of doctors on Sunday. According to reports, the deceased was identified as Tejaswini. Her parents alleged that they had rushed her to the government hospital as they could not afford treatment at a private hospital. The grieving family claimed that no doctors were available to attend to Tejaswini in time. They alleged that hospital authorities should have informed them if doctors were unavailable so they could have taken her to another hospital for treatment. The incident triggered protests by the family and relatives, leading to tense moments on the hospital premises. Police personnel reached the hospital and brought the situation under control. Hospital authorities are yet to respond to the allegations.
